As an NFT collector, it’s always exciting to share your latest purchase with the rest of the NFT community. We wear our PFPs as a badge of honor and a representation of the tribe we’ve valiantly chosen. Celebrities and professional athletes are no different. They share the same excitement, curiosity and admiration that we all do when it comes to NFTs and our digital assets.
Here, we’ll have a look at some of the most famous professional athlete and celeb NFT profile pictures.
Celeb NFT Profile Pic #1: Jason Derulo
On September 9th, 2021, singer-songwriter Jason Derulo announced that he had purchased a CryptoPunk for the first time. Along with a little help and guidance from Uncle Snoop (aka Cozomo de’ Medici), Derulo landed on punk 1961. This punk is one of 6039 male punks and sports a ‘Front Beard Dark’, ‘Earring’ and ‘Crazy Hair’.
Celeb NFT Profile Pic #2: Stephen Curry
Steph Curry, known to IRL people as the greatest shooter in NBA history, is also known as a fellow Bored Ape and NFT collector to those in the NFT world. Not only has Curry updated his PFP to that of his ape but he has also popped into the BAYC Discord on more than one occasion. We think it’s safe to say that he’s a fan.
Celeb NFT Profile Pic #3: Jay Z
Although unsurprisingly quiet about this acquisition, it’s no secret that Mr. Carter is an experienced and avid art collector. CryptoPunk 6095 boasts a ‘Gold Chain’ and ‘Wild Hair’ and has rightfully earned a spot in Carter’s personal collection.
Celeb NFT Profile Pic #4: Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson has been quite active in the NFT space. His Cool Cat PFP is only one of over 400 different NFTs you’ll find in his wallet. In August of 2021, Tyson joined forces with artist Cory Van Lew to create and launch his own NFT project. The launch was successful and still maintains a respectable floor price of 2.29 ETH two months into the project.
Celeb NFT Profile Pic #5: Odell Beckham Jr.
Vocal about his interest in the NFT space, Odell Beckham Jr has made the very wise choice of collecting one of the 10,000 CryptoPunks created by Larva Labs. His punk’s accessories include a ‘Shadow Beard’, ‘Wild Hair’ and a ‘Smile’.
BONUS! Celeb NFT Profile Pic #6 & #7: Snoop Dogg
Let’s take it back to the beginning. Originally known as Cozomo de’ Medici in the NFT space, Snoop Dogg hid his true identity while maintaining both a vibrant and enthusiastic interest in NFTs along with a very impressive collection. Currently, he owns a total of 10 CryptoPunks – two of which are his Twitter PFPs.
On September 20, 2021, Snoop doxxed himself and shared the true identity hiding behind his Cozomo de’ Medici account with all of his fans.
He later updated his personal Twitter account with CryptoPunk 5017 after collecting it on October 1st.
And, in true Snoop D.O Double G fashion, he announced his latest CryptoPunk like a G.
