NFTs are all the rage in the digital space, and NFT partnerships are happening across many industries. One of the latest is a banding together of Sappy Seals NFT and several other NFT communities for a metaverse project called the Pixelverse.
The Pixelverse
The Pixelverse is planned to be a 2D metaverse for many Ethereum blockchain-based projects. It will enable NFT communities to create their own worlds and interact with the worlds of others.
While collaborations between online companies are not a new concept, the Pixelverse team-up is significant. It will take advantage of the interoperability between applications, which is a core idea across blockchains. The idea is to allow parts of different creations to work together, resulting in a whole that is greater than the sum of the parts.
An announcement in November stated, “The Pixelverse will realize this dream by creating an accessible and immersive Pixel world upon which the wider NFT Community can build Web3 applications, benefit from the $PIXL ecosystem, and bring their NFTs to life.”
Sappy Seals And The Gang
The other reason Pixelverse is significant is the type and number of NFT communities and groups that are coming together and expressing excitement about its interoperability potential.
Several NFT communities are banding together under the Pixelverse banner, a project led by the founders of Sappy Seals NFT. Some of the other NFT communities that have committed to being part of the Pixelverse are Bubblegum Kids / Bubblegum Puppies, Winter Bears, Axolittles, Chubbicorns, WeAre24Px, and Cake Apes, with up to 15 more already in the process of committing.
These are all small projects, but they have very strong communities. Pixelverse could be an interesting experiment to prove that if small NFT projects unify, they could wield the clout that the early, big-name brands already command.
What’s Next
The Pixelverse developers are building the foundations and structure first, then plan to work on integrations between the various NFT communities. They’ve also committed to releasing these interaction tools soon. Sappy Seals NFT and several of the other project members have already been discussing the potential for interoperating with each other in a shared digital space.
