The Lazy Lions have recently announced an upcoming addition to their NFT pride: Lazy Cubs.
Here’s the story. Glitch is the Lazy Lions antagonist. As any good (bad?) antagonist would, Glitch has devised a devious plan to destroy the entire Metaverse, somewhat akin to a crypto-based Thanos.
To thwart Glitch’s evil plans and keep the NFT jungle (AKA metaverse) safe, the Lazy Lions must travel back in time using a randomly airdropped NFT drink.
Lazy Cubs mechanics
Here’s how it’ll work:
- Every Lazy Lions NFT holder will randomly be airdropped one Lazy Drink NFT: Milk or Juice. One drink per Lion.
- One of the drink types will be rarer than the other, and a third ultra-rare drink will be randomly dispersed to create 1/1’s.
- Holders can burn the drink NFT to transform their existing Lion (this is an adult lion) into one of two varying ages of its younger self. The existing Lion will remain as is.
- Because the holder’s Lazy Lion will be traveling back in time, the rarity of the Lazy Cub’s traits will match the holder’s Lazy Lions NFT (same probability). The look of the Lazy Cub’s artistic traits will be based on the holder’s current Lazy Lion traits, but will have unique new twists.
In addition to every Lion holder receiving the ability to create a Lazy Cub using their Lazy Drink NFT, there will also be a public sale for which the Allowlist is already underway. Project Co-Founder, Ashur, has been giving away allowlist spots through his personal Twitter account. We highly suggest that you turn on Ashur’s notifications to stay up-to-date on the new collection and to increase your chances of snatching up an Allowlist spot!
You can also win an Allowlist spot by visiting the Lazy Lions Discord. The team will be hosting regular Gartic challenges where those who place in the top 3 will earn Allowlist spots. Moderators will be keeping an eye out for actively engaged Discord members to give spots to as well.
Who are the Lazy Lions?
The Lazy Lions is a collection of 10,000 unique, digital drawing NFTs hosted on the Ethereum blockchain.
The collection was created by a group of friends, locked down in Australia due to COVID-19. Designed by an artist named Rizzio, each Lazy Lions NFT is unique and programmatically generated from over 160 possible traits, including clothing, mane, expression, and more.
The Lazy Lions NFT project was launched in August of 2021 and has since become one of the most popular projects in the NFT market. The Lazy Lions Discord has approximately 150K members and its Twitter account is quickly approaching the 90K mark.
In September of 2021, all holders were dropped a Lazy Lions Bungalow for each Lion they held – an NFT that can be used as a social media banner that showcases their Lazy Lions along with other NFTs.
The initial offering of the Lazy Lions NFT collection was sold within 5 hours after its launch, earning more than $1.5 million. Today, you can purchase Lazy Lions NFTs and Lazy Lions Bunglalows through various NFT marketplaces such as OpenSea and LooksRare.
