Top Women Profile Picture Projects on OpenSea

Female-focused PFP projects are making noise in the NFT space.
Women NFT Projects

The NFT space is mostly male-dominated, but every day more and more women are joining the fun. The first thing most new NFT adopters look for are projects with the best profile pictures (PFPs) to mark their personal brand. If a cute, furry animal isn’t quite your thing, the next best option is to pick a PFP that best represents the real you. Here are the top all-women PFP projects to represent your personal style available on OpenSea.

World of Women

Currently, the Fendi of female NFTs, World of Women (WOW) is the premier leading women’s project. With 10,000 pieces in the collection created by Yam Karkai, WOW is consistently in the top 100 trending projects on OpenSea. With 14 skin tones, 25 hairstyle traits, and 28 eye combinations, this project does an incredible job in representing real diversity. The most recent notable holder is Reese Witherspoon who currently has a WOW as her Twitter profile picture

The project has donated 2.5% of its sales to three different women’s causes: She’s The First, Too Young To Wed and Strange Cintia’s Go Fund Me. In terms of utility, the most obvious use of owning a WOW is access to their growing community (nearly 50,000 Twitter followers, 13,000 Discord members), repping a premier women’s PFP in the #NFT space, and access to their future space in the Sandbox. Recently, they have announced that they will be launching Galaxy of Women in the new year, meaning current WOW holders will have first dibs. It is also the priciest on our list, with a current floor of 2.45 ETH.

Crypto Chicks

This all-women collection is the second generation of the original Crypto.Chick 1/1 project which was released on Opensea in May of 2021. Created by artist Ms Polly, there are 10,000 pieces in the 2nd generation Crypto Chicks project. The chicks are particularly stylish and have gotten the attention of high-profile Twitter accounts such as @FashionweekNYC and actress Reese Witherspoon.

Crypto Chicks’ goal is to be an entry point for mainstream women-focused brands who want to enter the Web3 space. The community also regularly supports women artists and often collaborates with other projects that are female-focused. With @NFTs_girl as their Chief Marketing Officer at the helm, she and the team have promised upcoming utility such as voting rights for holders, staking, personalized merchandise and access to in-person events. They have a strong community with nearly 20,000 Twitter followers and 12,000 discord members.

Boss Beauties

The first known NFT displayed at the New York Stock Exchange, Boss Beauties was the first female-focused project to land a massive brand collaboration. BB holders get to boast a partnership with Marvel, one of the world’s largest entertainment companies.

They have fulfilled most of their roadmap, which included holding back 5% in mint sales for their women’s scholarship program. They have also launched their Boss Beauties Book Club and shipped free books to their holders. They dropped their Winter Capsule which contained some of the best-looking merch any project has put out so far.

In addition to the project being featured in ELLE Magazine, Forbes and Brit + Co, they have dropped royalty fees to holders from using their PFPs in various promotions. In the new year, they have promised a free mint, additional collaborations and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.

Women and Weapons

The art collection created by Sara Baumann first got a lot of attention when the Godfather of NFTs, Gary Vaynerchuk, first highlighted the project as one of his favorites. Sara has been featured on Serius XM, Show Me The Crypto and will be featured as a speaker at next year’s VeeCon.

The collection features 10,000 women holding 44 different types of weapons. Five percent of the proceeds from the project go to The Malala Fund. They have recently dropped a 2022 Road Map which hints at a season two collection, a merch drop, a comic or animated series, and a virtual gallery that will hold metaverse events. The Women and Weapons community currently has 25,000 Twitter followers and 11,000 Discord members.

Women Rise

The final project on our list is Women Rise, the newest women’s profile pic project to enter the scene, and probably the most philanthropic. Artist Maliha Abidi created a collection of diverse women who are featured as various activists and professional leaders. The collection includes numerous 1/1s that highlight groundbreaking women such as Malala and Aretha Franklin

Though the project is still minting, their community and artist have managed to make a lot of noise. The project, which is also available on Rarible, was featured in Brit + Co and on various podcasts. Maliha has also been announced as a speaker at VeeCon 2022.

Their roadmap is nearly 25% complete, which includes a donation to The Malala Fund, and RISE Books and prints being given out to early adopters of the project. Being a member of the community will allow access to their “Rising Women Club”, which will focus on promoting women in art, science and culture, while the “Activist Club” will focus on bringing attention to social justice causes highlighted by the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The project promises to build a school in the metaverse for young women who are not able to attend school IRL, plus future collaborations and merchandise in the new year.
