OpenSea Introduces New Sweep Feature

All-new sweep feature allows you to buy up to 30 NFTs in one single transaction.

When it comes to buying multiple lower-priced NFTs at once – commonly known as sweeping the floor – it can be a hassle. This is because, up until now, it involved using a third-party tool. OpenSea has introduced a new, highly requested “Sweep” feature that allows you to buy up to 30 individual NFTs in a single transaction. This feature will be very beneficial for anyone who is looking to purchase multiple NFTs from a particular collection, especially in those moments when it’s a race against other buyers.

How does Opensea’s Sweep feature work?

When viewing an eligible collections page, you’ll see a Sweep option in the bottom left corner of the page. By switching on the Sweep feature, you’ll be allowed to select up to 30 NFTs with the slide of your mouse or by simply entering the number of NFTs you’d like to purchase. All selected items – items that will be included in your purchase – will be highlighted with a blue border.

You’ll notice that there is also a Substitute Items checkbox. If checked, Opensea will grab the next NFT(s) in line if any of the first items you originally selected are gone by the time you make your purchase. This often happens when a project is in high demand and you have multiple NFT collectors sweeping the floor at the same time. If you choose to substitute items, you will need to enter the maximum price per item so that you don’t go purchasing way above your desired budget.

In the example below, we are set to sweep 8 Sappy Seals NFTs and have the Substitute Items option turned on. Since our max price is set to 1.1ETH, anything above that price is greyed out and will not be purchased.

Once you’re ready to go, you can click on the blue button in the bottom right corner. You’ll be able to see the price, so you’re not blindsided in the end.

Items that are purchased as part of your sweep will not include items previously added to your cart. It’s also important to note that NFT collections with multiple contracts or collections on Solana do not currently have the sweep option available.

Any ETH that is not spent when completing the transaction will be automatically transferred back to your wallet. This way, even if someone else beats you to an NFT, you don’t lose any money.

Happy Sweeping! 🧹🧹🧹
